The ISU France "Dine and Debate" events

Principles

Tired of hearing the same presentations, with no time for the juicy questions?

Well, we have come up with a new type of ISU-France event to allow exciting discussions! The "dine and debate" evening takes place in Parisian restaurants, with the participation of one or two space experts, as keynotes speakers.

The dinner starts by a brief presentation that provides the grounds for the discussion and a few key ideas. All through the meal, moments are devoted for a lively exchange to take place between the expert(s) and the participants, with questions and comments.

The added value of such an event? A friendly meal, with the possibility to address an issue in a novel way, going further than just participating to a classic presentation.

Our first "dine and debate" event (May 2005)

La Lune

Our first "dine and debate" event took place in the gorgeous Cercle Saint Augustin in Paris, with twenty participants – alumni and non-alumni – discussing lively on the following theme: “Asian Countries, A new Race to the Moon ?”.

Possible future themes

Our objective is to alternate current themes (what is going on ?), historical themes (what did our predecessors?) and practical themes (How do we do this ?).

The following themes list is only indicative, and themes will be treated with original angles:

How to participate?

* As an expert: Many space professionals do not realize they are experts in their own right ! If you wish to share your experiences and competences in a specific space field with ISU alumni, and can present a theme in a concise and lively manner, please do contact ISU-France!

* As a participant: Please subscribe to the ISU-France mailing list to get the latest news, and come regularly check our website.
